Hitting 4.5x ROAS with CAPI + UGC Post iOS-14

A D2C skincare brand had seen their Meta Ads ROAS collapse from 3.8x to 1.1x after the iOS-14 update. The Facebook Pixel was blind to over 60% of purchases, causing the algorithm to optimize against ghost data.

Without server-side data flow and a creative refresh, continuing to scale was impossible. We came in and rebuilt the entire ads infrastructure from the ground up.

Our Approach

Step 01 — Conversions API (CAPI) Implementation

Integrated Meta's CAPI via server-side events directly from their Shopify backend. Restored 94% of purchase data visibility, giving the algorithm clean signals to optimize against.

Step 02 — UGC Creative Production

Partnered with 12 micro-influencers to produce 30+ authentic "unboxing" and "honest review" video clips. These replaced all static product ads and immediately outperformed by 4x on thumb-stop rate.

Step 03 — Campaign Restructure (ABO to CBO)

Migrated from manual ABO bidding to CBO with Advantage+ Audience, allowing Meta's algorithm — now fed with clean CAPI data — to find the highest-intent buyers autonomously.
